I would like to send out a special thanks to Kevin Richardson of Feed the Children, Jenny Jamison of Lake Area United Way, Tammy Toombs of OG&E, and the rest of the crew who coordinated a Teacher Store at the Civic Center today for Muskogee County teachers. Hundreds of area teachers shopped for free throughout the day. They loaded my Suburban down twice full of supplies for our teachers and students. We are so grateful for your continued generosity and support of Webbers Falls Public Schools.

Good morning. This is Superintendent Chris Whelan, and this message is for Webbers Falls families. First, what an exciting time it is to be a Warrior. Congratulations to Coach Norman and the Ladies Softball team in their victory yesterday at the Stigler Tournament, they will play today at 1:30 against Gore then the championship games will follow. GOOD LUCK! Coach Holt's team won their second football game of the season last night in impressive fashion and we cannot wait to see what the rest of he future holds for them. I would like to thank you for supporting our students and staff during these first few weeks of classes. Even with challenges, we are so happy to be back in school and to have the opportunity to see students each day. Second, I would like to remind you there will be no school on Monday, September 7 for the Labor Day holiday. Please remember: While we relax this weekend, our attention to COVID-19 prevention should not be relaxed. When celebrating the holiday and visiting with family and friends, please continue to be vigilant – wash your hands, wear a face covering and social distance, whenever possible. Muskogee County has been identified as a RED county this week based on the Oklahoma State Department of Health data. This drastic increase is due largely because of nearly 600 positive cases at Eddie Warrior Correctional Center which is included in the Muskogee County COVID count. Have a great weekend, we appreciate your cooperation, and we look forward to seeing students again on Tuesday, September 8.
